Minutes of the Special Meeting

May 26, 2010

 


 

1.                  The Cashion School Board met in Special Session on May 26, 2010, President Andrews called the meeting to order at 12:04 p.m.

 

2.                  Members present: Andrews, Robinson, Kadavy and Evans. Members absent: Broadbent. Quorum established.  Also attending: Marva Oard, Superintendent and Stephanie White, Minutes Clerk.

 

3.         A motion to approve payment of mentor teacher stipends to Nancy Chandler and Sheri Wagner was made by Robinson and seconded by Kadavy.   Motion passed 4-0.

 

4.         A motion to approve providing repairs and equipment to the softball program as recommended by the coach up to $5,000 out of the 2007 Bond money was made by Robinson and seconded by Evans.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

5.         A motion to approve appointment of Chad Tichenor as administrative assistant (Pre-K through 12) was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

6.         A motion to approve payment of summer stipend to Lisa Hudson of $100 per day not to exceed $1,000.00 for administrative duties was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

7. & 8. A motion to convene to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the following was made by Kadavy and seconded by Robinson at 12:55 p.m.   Motion passed 4-0.

b.        Resignations

    25, 307(B)(6-7).

 

 

9.       A motion to reconvene to Open Session was made by Robinson and seconded by Evans at 1:21p.m.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

Executive Session minutes compliance announcement

a.         Present: Andrews, Robinson, Kadavy, Evans and Oard

b.         Discussion was limited to agenda items 7A-7C

c.         No action was taken

 

10.       A motion to approve employment of Lisa Hudson as elementary school principal for the 2010-2011 school year was made by Robinson and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

11.       A motion to approve employment of Terri Maroney as pre-kindergarten teacher on temporary contract for 2010-2011 school year was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

12.       A motion to approve employment of Tammy Bronaugh as first grade teacher on temporary contract for 2010-2011 school year was made by Evans and seconded by Robinson.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

13.       A motion to table employment of a fifth grade teacher on temporary contract for the 2010-2011 school year was made by Evans and seconded by Robinson.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

14.       A motion to approve employment of Ashley Monkman as Title I reading teacher and math teacher on temporary contract for the 2010-2011 school year was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

15.       A motion to approve employment of Rachel Terry as elementary school physical education teacher on temporary contract for 2010-2011 school year was made by Robinson and seconded by Evans.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

16.       A motion to approve employment of Rachel Terry as fast pitch softball coach for the 2010-2011 school year was made by Robinson and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

17.       A motion to approve resignation of Amy O’Neill as Cashion Kids master teacher was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

18.       A motion to approve authorizing the filing of an offer of judgment by the School District in the amount of $65,000 in M.B., et al. vs. Cashion Public School District, Case No. CIV-09-788-HE, United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, to resolve all claims asserted by plaintiffs was made by Robinson and seconded by Kadavy.  Motion passed 4-0.

 

19.       A motion to adjourn was made by Evans and seconded by Kadavy at 1:28 p.m.  Motion passed 4-0.
