Second Grade November News

Thank you, thanks to all our parents for coming to parent/teacher conferences and helping with our
fall workshops on October 31st!  They both were a huge success.  We really enjoyed visiting
with you.  Your wonderful children are a reflection of you!

We are starting a new unit in reading on Kindness and are starting a unit on Main Idea.  We will be having
a visitor introduce Main Idea to our classes.  Ask your children about Cowboy Crow and Cowboy Phippen. 

We are also working with money, counting pennies and dimes. 
We will be finishing up our addition facts through 18 and will start subtraction sometime next month.

We’re looking forward to our Native American unit.  We’ll be weaving blankets, making teepees,
choosing Native American names and many other fun, educational activities.  Ask your second
grader what “O-ceo” means in Cherokee.

Our A.R. program is going great!   We had a fabulous time at the Rockin’ Rollar Rink and hopefully
we will see all second graders at our second nine week celebration - Kingfisher Movie Theatre.
