About The TeacherNAME: Mrs. Debbie TaylorSCHOOL: Cashion ElementaryCLASS: Courageous KindergartenSCHOOL PHONE: 405-433-2614About The TeacherWelcome to our Courageous Kindergarten class! My name is Debbie Taylor. I am in my seventeenth year of teaching. I am a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career at an Oklahoma City school by the name of John Adams. I then had the opportunity to come to Cashion Elementary in the 1999-2000 school year. This is my eleventh year here at Cashion and I absolutely love teaching here! Most all of my teaching experience had been with second grade up until the 2003-2004 school year. Our very first Pre-K program began that year and is now in its seventh successful year, with a slight change. We are now two half day classes. Switching from second grade to preschool age children was somewhat of an adventure, but turned out to be a very enjoyable, rewarding blessing! This year I will be teaching Kindergarten and have the unique opportunity to teach many of the children that I taught in pre-k last year. I’m so excited about the move! I am married to a wonderful man named Randy and have three beautiful daughters. Haleigh is a Cashion alumni of 2004, is now 24. She is a hair stylist, optometrist assistant in Oklahoma City, and a full time student majoring in public relations. Whitnee is also a Cashion alumni of the class of 2007, is 21. She attended Northern Oklahoma in Tonkawa on basketball scholarship for 2 years and is now attending UCO full time majoring in Broadcasting. Last, but not least is Carley who is a junior here at Cashion. You will often find us at Cashion sporting events since my husband Randy is a volunteer football coach for the high school team and Carley is a football manager, as well as a player on the basketball team. Our family attends the Cashion Baptist Church. As you can imagine, it's sure to be a very busy, but fun year!
Mission For The Class My mission for our Kindergarten class is that each and every child will experience success at some level, whether it be at an academic level, a social level, or ideally at both. I believe young children are like sponges in that they are capable of learning so much. I have very high expectations for each and every student. My goal is to expose them to many learning experiences in a variety of ways. I feel that every child can learn and I will do my best to facilitate that learning through my educational knowledge, as well as a loving heart. Kindergarten will be some children's first experience at school. I realize the important role I will have in helping that experience to be a good one. I thank you for entrusting me with part of your child's education. As partners, we will work together for the best of your precious children. You, the parents are your child's best, first teacher:)
